Let me take you back to 2022 and 2023, when a pitcher who then went by Jordy Bahl was the ace pitcher for a team you may have heard of, the Oklahoma Sooners. Jordy Bahl led the sooners to back to back national championships in 2022 and 2023, and had one of the most dominant post-season runs ever in 2024 when she pitched 24.2 scoreless innings, tallied 30 strike outs to only 12 hits and 3 walks, a perfect 4-0 record, and a national championship trophy.
Then, in 2024, at the very top of the college softball mountain, Jordy Bahl, who has since married and changed her name to Jordy Frahm, transferred from Oklahoma to the University of Nebraska. Frahm is from Papillon, NE and obviously wanted to transfer to a school closer to home and to help build an elite softball program for her hometown Cornhuskers.
Sadly her 2024 season was cut short with an injury, but she returned in 2025 and lead the Cornhuskers to a berth in the NCAA Super Regionals.
It may have taken a few years, but in 2026, Jordy Frahm has finally turned Nebraska softball into a legit contender for the national championship. The Frahm led Cornhuskers are currently ranked #2 in the nation with a 44-6 record and trail only Frahm’s former team Oklahoma, in the standings. And Frahm is playing the best ball of her career.
Through 145 innings so far this season she has a 1.25 ERA, 193 strike outs, and a 1.33 strike out per inning ratio.
Oh and did I mention, she is also her team’s best overall hitter with a .429 batting average, 19 home runs, 49 RBI, and 7 stolen bases. Her home run total puts her at #32 in the nation right now. Behind most national champions is a single pitcher who throws the vast majority of a team’s innings during the playoffs, is utterly dominant, and leads her team to victory. Jordy Frahm has done it before, and it sure looks like she is ready to do it again!
