Outbound Telesales Associate

Part - Time Outbound Sales 


Job Duties: The Softball Channel is seeking to fill a part-time Marketing Phone Sales position.  This position requires a high level of professionalism in dealing with corporate prospects and clients on the telephone. The ideal candidate will help establish relationships with prospects through outbound sales calls and e-mail to appropriate individuals to informing them of The Softball Channel's various services including our travel and tournament promotion services, process orders and coordinate with other departments as appropriate to ensure establishment of services.



Responsibilities:  Responsibilities include warm and cold call prospecting (outbound telephone sales calls to corporate prospects), and follow up including preparation and mailing/emailing of sales materials and correspondenceResponsible for keeping up with and adhering to process changes and improvements.


Requirements:  Strong work ethic and proven ability to work effectively in a fast moving, interdependent team environment is essential. High School diploma or GED required. 1 year telemarketing sales experience is preferred. Must be able to consistently communicate with others in a courteous and effective manner. PC skills desired include wordprocessing and spreadsheet skills. Ideal candidate will be able to telecommunte, coming into the office two days per week and working from home the rest of the time.


Pay: Strictly Comission, but sky is the limit!!!!!!!




Fall 2009 Internship

2009 Fall Softball Channel Internship Program

DURATION/HOURS: September - December.


GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate (junior/senior standing), graduate students attending anaccredited college or university majoring in Broadcasting/Communications/Journalism or related field of study,or Broadcasting graduates of any age may apply. Students must be able to obtain college credit for the internship experience. (Internships are unpaid). Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable working under deadlines. Must be a self-starter. Ability to follow direction is a must. Must be punctual,creative and enjoy working in a team atmosphere. Previous TV experience (school, internship, or professional)preferred. Dependability, promptness, initiative, responsibility, judgment, organization, and efficiency are key to the success of interns along with the ability to work well under pressure and handle deadlines.

We are looking for:

Producers: This internship is designed for a student who is interested show production. Duties include, but are not limited to: guest and show research,scripting, creating show outlines, working on special reports and projects, contributing story and production ideas, delivering softball news stories in a fun and personable manner for recorded broadcasts, and interviewing fans/players.

Requirements:Requirements:  Must be punctual, creative and enjoy working in a team atmosphere. Previous sports writing experience is a plus.  Must be extremely organized and possess strong writing and oral communication skills. Please submit writing sample with application.


Editors: This internship is designed for a student who has an interest in video production. Duties include, but are not limited to editing video for The Strike Zone and other Exclusive Softball Channel Shows, promotional videos, commercials and various other projects, collaboration with producers and videographers with conceptualizing and developing shooting outlines for on-air talent for shows. Interns will work with producers, videographers and production personnel to edit softball news related stories.

Requirements: Must be a self-starter. Ability to follow direction is a must. Must be punctual, creative and enjoy working in ateam atmosphere. Familiarity with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere non-linear editing equipment, Photoshop CS, Illustrator,Microsoft Word, and After Affects is a plus.


Videographers: This internship is designed for a student who has an interest in camera operation. Duties include, but are not limited to shooting video for and accurately logging necessary footage of live play by play action shots at games for The Strike Zone and other Exclusive Softball Channel Shows, promotional videos and various other projects. Insure that production equipment is maintained and operational.

Requirements:Must be a quick study. Must be able to take direction. Experience using DV format cameras. HDV camera and still photography experience a plus.
